2026.05.18

Congratulations!

JMFILTEC recently shipped 100 pcs N200 to internal China market customer, and ship 35 pcs N200 to overseas customer.

All of them are used on drinking water treatment.

N200 is a very important product we have, which is used on drinking water treatment, with 25㎡ per piece. It is called column membranes which was composed by our tubular membranes.

Please follow below a introduction on it.

Silicon carbide membrane module products

This product is an innovative product that breaks the boundary between the application scenarios of inorganic and organic membranes. It combines the advantages of ceramic membrane products being sturdy and durable, as well as high filling density of organic membrane products. The usage method is similar to that of organic membranes, making up for the shortcomings of ultrafiltration membrane technology such as high inlet water quality requirements, high backwash water consumption, and the risk of wire breakage. It can improve the water yield of ultrafiltration systems and reduce chemical cleaning costs.

Our company uses silicon carbide material to prepare ceramic membrane components, which have many advantages such as strong acid and alkali corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, high mechanical strength, good hydrophilicity, and large flux. Especially for cylindrical membrane products, the channel size and distribution are designed using fluid dynamics simulation, with a scientifically reasonable structure and independent intellectual property rights. Encapsulating silicon carbide ceramic membranes into membrane shells similar to ordinary ultrafiltration or reverse osmosis through special processes, users can independently choose the corresponding membrane shell and structure according to different water quality or application conditions. Simple selection and convenient application.

The column membrane series perfectly replaces traditional sand filtration, and the application of ultrafiltration in the field of water purification has a large flux and high system integration, simple operation and easy maintenance of equipment in the later stage, greatly reducing equipment operating costs, increasing service life, and broad market prospects.

The silicon carbide ceramic core is composed of tubular membrane products spliced together. The unique structural design makes the hydraulic distribution of the water production and backwashing channels of each tubular membrane product more uniform, and the backwashing recovery effect is outstanding.

Column Membrane

Tubular membrane

Flat Sheet membrane

Structural characteristics

Column membrane usually has a columnar structure, filled with membrane fibers or tubes inside. A water flow channel is formed between membrane fibers or membrane tubes for treating wastewater.

A tubular membrane is mainly composed of a membrane shell and a membrane tube, with the inside or outside of the membrane tube serving as the filtering surface. There is a support layer inside or outside the membrane tube to enhance the strength and stability of the membrane.
The support layer is usually sintered from polymer or ceramic materials and has a porous structure.

A flat sheet membrane is composed of multiple parallel arranged membranes, with water flow channels between each membrane.
The flat sheet membrane structure is relatively simple, easy to clean and maintain.

Application features

Column membrane has the advantages of small footprint and high filtration efficiency. Suitable for treating wastewater with large water volume and complex water quality.

Tubular membranes are suitable for high suspended solids filtration and separation, where the feed liquid flows through the inner surface of the membrane tube under pressure for filtration. Due to its advantages of not being easily clogged, easy to clean, and low pressure loss, tubular membranes are commonly used to treat wastewater containing a large amount of suspended particles. The tubular membrane equipment can achieve the standard of zero discharge and recycling of wastewater, and is widely used in enterprises such as power plants and chemical plants that need to treat heavy metal wastewater.

flat sheet membrane is suitable for internal and external pressure operation, and has good cleaning and maintenance convenience. But it is not as popular as hollow fiber membranes (including column membranes and curtain membranes) in MBR applications, mainly because of their relatively high cost and low packing density.

Performance characteristics

Column membranes typically have high compressive strength and long service life.
Due to its compact structure and small footprint, it is suitable for use in places with limited space.

Tubular membranes have excellent chemical corrosion resistance and mechanical strength.
The material liquid forms a turbulent state on the surface of the membrane, effectively preventing particle accumulation and blockage.
High filtration efficiency and stable effluent quality.

The flat sheet membrane structure is relatively simple, easy to clean and maintain. However, due to its high cost and low packing density, it may not be the optimal choice in some large-scale sewage treatment projects. In summary, column membrane, tubular membrane, and flat sheet membrane each have their own advantages and disadvantages in MBR technology. The selection of which membrane component type needs to be comprehensively considered based on factors such as actual water quality, water quantity, treatment requirements, and site conditions.
